When ordering a corset, it is very important to choose the correct size for your requirements and reduction needed. If you don’t know where to begin or would rather leave it to us, then we will gladly advise you which size to opt for, which takes away any element of guesswork.

However, our simple guide should help you choose the correct size.

When choosing a corset size, it is important to measure your natural waist measurement first. To find your natural size, you need to wrap a tape measure around the narrowest part of your waist, which for most women is an inch or so above the belly button. Take this measurement in inches. It is important to measure your waist whilst relaxed to give the most accurate sizing, which will ensure your corset fits well. As a general rule, a first time wearer should choose a corset that is 2-4 inches smaller than their natural waist measurement. Choose a 2 inch reduction if you are very muscular or only want a small reduction and gentle shaping, with the back of the corset fully closed. Opt for a four inch reduction if you want serious hourglass curves, or have a natural waist measurement of 32inch or above, as the waist will naturally be able to compress more. A more experienced wearer should choose a 4 inch waist reduction or more. So for example, a wearer with a natural waist of 31 inches should opt for a 28 inch corset to give the best fit and shaping.

Made To Measure Corsets

All our designs are available in a made to measure option if you would prefer a corset made to your exact measurement, or if you fall outside of the ‘ready to wear’ corset sizing guide. This option carries an additional charge, but also offers superior fit. If this service is required please contact us to arrange a made to measure design. We can also customise any current corset, or alternatively arrange for a unique design to be produced for you.
